In the New Era

Otherwise, we would have kept saying that

The Prime Minister of Finland is Mari Kiviniemi - The president of Finland is Tarja Halonen

And those people would have kept seeing each other.

WITH ELECTIONS

A huge budget expenditure was allocated every time

The one elected took office and then his term was prefixed

The one elected was said to represent those who had elected him

The election may be rigged

We could always ask: "Who's Tarja Halonen?"

The Prime Minister couldn't give a lecture on a scientific, artistic matter

The president signed laws exempting him from jurisdiction

The one elected went out under escort or with armed guards

WITHOUT ELECTIONS

Any nomination is free

The one appointed remains in office until it's necessary, without a deadline

The one appointed exerts authority, guided by principles, acting in the interest of the public

The nomination can never be rigged. The procedure is based on principles (the best, the one who was born to be the king, the one with those planets, etc.)

Everybody knows who the president is

The president is a wise person. He knows a lot. He can lecture a class on several subjects

The president could never commit crimes. He won't ever pursue any private or personal interest. If he did it, he'd accept to stand trial

The president feels no need to be protected from enemies. Everybody respects him
